One of the most common questions I get in my
Cheektowaga chiropractic office is whether or not chiropractic care is covered under workers’ compensation. Fortunately, for the 3.4 out of every 100 people injured on the job annually, the answer is yes.
According to the Office of Employee Relations website for Andrew M. Cuomo, Governor of the State of New York, workers’ compensation benefits are designed to cover a wide array of medical treatment options “that your injury or your process of recovery may require,” and chiropractic is included. This is good news if you have been injured at work and want to find relief.
Common Workers’ Compensation Injuries
Some of the most common
workers’ compensation injuries that I see in my Cheektowaga chiropractic office include carpal tunnel, back and neck injuries, and leg pain. Some of these conditions are due to performing the same motion over and over again, while others are caused by some sort of trauma to the affected area, such as if you fall or get hit by a piece of machinery.
No One Is Immune From a Work-Involved Injury
The reality is that on one is immune from getting hurt while on the job. Certainly, being employed in physically demanding fields like construction and factory work can be hard on your body, but so too can sitting at a desk all day. When you’re stuck in front of your computer, you can develop a number of issues with your spine—especially if your posture isn’t the greatest.
If you’ve been hurt at work and you want to find relief, come to our Cheektowaga chiropractic office and see what we can do for you. Our goal is your recovery and we’ll do what we can to meet it!
